Job Title: Dean UCLA School of Public Health, Department of Epidemiology
Main qualifications: M.D., Ph.D.
Research interests: My main topics in research have been within reproductive epidemiology, cancer epidemiology and occupational health. I am presently in charge of the National Danish Birth Cohort which aims at enrolling 100 000 pregnant women early in pregnancy. Data on exposures will be collected by means of telephone interviews 4 times during pregnancy and early childhood. A biological bank is set up to store 3 blood samples taken in pregnancy.
We also lead a European project on Medicine And Pregnancy (EuroMAP). I have served in the Biomed Committee for many years and was until December 1997 chairman of the Project Review Committee for Biomed 1.
I am also member of the WHO Steering Committee on research in human reproduction (HRP). I serve as the epidemiological consultant in the National Board of Health and on a number of other committees in Denmark and abroad. |
